What is "Wabi-Sabi"?
In Kanji: 侘 寂
It is a beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete... of things modest and humble, and of things unconventional.
"Wabi" is the kind of perfectly imperfect beauty, which reflects the soul of handmade craftsmanship. "Sabi" is the kind of beauty that can come only with age, such as the turquoise patina on copper; rust; weathered and worn wood; oxidation on silver; well-used and well-loved objects that proudly display their wear.
